Course covers the physiology, biochemistry, pathogenesis, and ecology of microbes including fungi, bacteria, and viruses. Immunology and molecular structure in relation to microbial function and disease is also covered. Course includes a laboratory. Course will utilize the Moodle website. Course texts: Prescott's Microbiology (McGraw Hill) 9th edition, MICB 3301 Laboratory Manual (Current summer edition). Target audience: undergraduate science majors and pre-professional students (including Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, and Genetics).
