- Topic Description: In this anchor course for the Global Health and Mobile Populations thematic track or elective for the Human Rights or Culture track, students will study the criminalization of contemporary migration (crimmigration) through three key concepts: borders, crossings, and detention. The course will include artistic texts (literature, film, and visual and performing arts) as well as academic writing by anthropologists, historians, and sociologists. Writing assignments will be short and informal, and there will be a final exam.
