- Class Description:
- This is the first half of a two-semester sequence in second year modern standard Chinese (Mandarin). It is designed for students who have completed Chn 1012 or 1015 at the U of M, or the equivalent. It will help students improve their ability to understand, speak, read, and write Chinese, and particularly aims at helping students enlarge their vocabulary and learn more complex sentence structures. Students will also be trained to write good compositions to express their views. Those who have not completed Chn 1012 or 1015 at the U of M, but wish to enroll in this course, need the instructor's approval. Textbook: "Integrated Chinese", by Yuehua Liu, et al, Cheng & Tsui Company, 1997.
