- Modern standard Chinese skills developed further through conversations, writing, reading. prereq: 1012 or 1015 or equiv or instr consent

- Intensive Chinese -- concurrent registration in CHN 3022 is REQUIRED. Students not registered for both CHN 3021 and CHN 3022 for summer session will be automatically dropped. Students who want to register for only one course must request special permission from the instructor. Students and instructors must be online at the same time, at scheduled days and times. 100% of instruction is online with no in-person meetings. Exams are also all online.
- Class Description:
- This is the first half of a two-semester sequence in second year modern standard Chinese (Mandarin). It is designed for students who have completed Chn 1012 or 1015 at the U of M, or the equivalent. It will help students improve their ability to understand, speak, read, and write Chinese, and particularly aims at helping students enlarge their vocabulary and learn more complex sentence structures. Students will also be trained to write good compositions to express their views. Those who have not completed Chn 1012 or 1015 at the U of M, but wish to enroll in this course, need the instructor's approval.
