- 2024 celebrates the centennial of the Vienna Circle, a group of philosophers and scientists that explored the conceptual underpinnings of science and emphasized logical clarity and rigor. This course explores their scientific philosophical worldview and its impact on 20th century philosophy. We'll pay special attention to the communication and development of these ideas that was made possible by our own Minnesota Center for Philosophy of Science, founded by former Vienna Circle member and Austrian émigré, Herbert Feigl, in 1953.
