- Class Notes:
- This course will introduce students to important topics in health and medical rhetoric, specifically related to inequities in access and outcome. Students will become acquainted with histories of health and medicine and examine how public communication helps to shape the way that we understand our place in the healthcare landscape. Students will better understand the larger context of health related problems and learn the skills of oral history to conduct their own study or rhetorically analyze an already existing oral history interview. Students will emerge with a greater sense of how context and narrative intertwine in order to generate meaning and change in medicine.
