Course Catalog Description:: This course examines the lives and stories of heroic figures in the Bible. We approach the Bible as a literary work and explore themes, characters, symbolism, and narrative techniques. Our text, the King James version of the Bible, is the most important translation in terms of American and English literary traditions. Our emphasis in the course is on the Biblical heroes who are represented as living their lives in this world (the world between heaven and hell).
