- Second of six-semester sequence in jazz dance. Fundamental jazz vocabulary/movement. Clear articulation of movement, use of space, weight, dynamics, focus, style, musicality. Improvisation. Overview of history of jazz music/dance styles. prereq: 1201 or audition or instr consent
- Class Description:
- This is the second of an eight-semester sequence in jazz dance technique/style. Class work will continue to focus on fundamental jazz vocabulary and movement. Clear articulation of movement will continue to be emphasized, as well as the use of space, weight, dynamics, focus and musicality. The continued use of improvisation will be used to help build one's self confidence in dance movement. Successful completion of previous level or departmental approval by audition required for registration.
