Beginning instruction in art of fiction: characterization, plot, dialogue, and style. Writing exercises to generate ideas. Students read/discuss published fiction and their own writing.
Class Description:
Introductory course in the art and craft of reading and writing fiction. Students will read a variety of classic and contemporary fiction. Students will be responsible for composing original stories, workshop participation, discussing the work of both published and student writers, and a final portfolio of fiction.
