- Course Description This course is designed to give participants a theoretical and practical approach to personal and professional effectiveness. We will focus on timeless principles of effectiveness by relying on the framework of Stephen Covey's Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. In addition, we will explore the role of Kuhn's theory of paradigms in shaping our personal effectiveness and ultimately the effectiveness of our ability to lead ourselves and others. We will also draw upon current literature to examine the role of trust in effectiveness, and we will look at personal resilience skills needed to be effective in today's fast-paced organizations. Course Objectives Understand the role of your paradigms in shaping your effectiveness Understand the role of trust, character, and interdependence in individual, organizational and leadership effectiveness Identify and apply the principles and theories behind effective personal leadership Understand and apply key components of individual and organizational effectiveness Identify the key principles of effectiveness Equip students with the mindset, toolset, and skill for effectiveness in life and organizations
