- This course introduces the topic of management accounting. The purpose of management accounting is to provide information to management for costing products, as well as for planning, controlling, and evaluating business activities. The purpose of this class is to introduce managerial accounting, which directly relates to managerial decision-making. The course will introduce the design and use of costing systems with specific emphasis on activity based costing systems. The role of managerial accounting in operational and strategic decisions of business firms will also be emphasized.
