Course Catalog Description:: Bacterial metabolism, growth/genetics, biology of viruses/fungi. Control of microorganisms. Host-microbe interactions, microorganisms/disease, applied microbiology. prereq: One semester each of college chemistry, biology
Class Notes:: The course consists of pre-recorded online lectures. Online lab exercises will include at-home lab experiments, virtual lab simulations and recorded demonstrations. In addition, students will actively engage with experimental data from ongoing research projects. Lectures and pre-recorded labs may be viewed at any time. Two (synchronous) lab discussions will be held each week via zoom. Optional lab sessions will be held for students to gain experience with essential microbiology laboratory skills.
