- The course helps students develop insights on starting and sustaining a successful venture. The course focus is on opportunity identification and evaluation: Where do new venture ideas come from? How do you recognize a good business idea? How can a so-so idea be improved to be a good opportunity? Students will focus on five characteristics of a good entrepreneurial opportunity: Creating significant customer value, profit potential, profit durability, founder and team fit, and amenability to financing. prereq: MBA student

- What does it actually mean to launch and grow a business? This course gives participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the triumphs and tribulations of launching and growing a company. We will cover the following topics: -- Identifying the business opportunity -- Designing a profitable business model -- Building a new venture team -- Financing the new venture -- Growing the young venture -- Harvesting strategies During this course, you will get practice: -- Pitching business ideas -- Developing financial scenarios -- Writing a business plan

1. This course is designed to teach the students to apply the knowledge they have gained in previous courses in management, finance and marketing.
2. To understand the entrepreneurial process and the steps for successful entrepreneurial growth to help students achieve venture and entrepreneurial goals
- Class Format:
- Students are asked to analyze and discuss case studies of entrepreneurs who have started or acquired businesses and to develop reports analyzing an opportunity and developing a strategic plan for a business startup or acquisition to obtain insight into the startup process.
