- A comprehensive introduction to biology - includes molecular structure of living things, cell processes, energy utilization, genetic information and inheritance, mechanisms of evolution, biological diversity, and ecology. Includes lab. This comprehensive course serves as a prerequisite and requirement in many majors.
- Class Notes:
- In-Person Lecture-This section has regularly scheduled lectures. Online Lab-Students in the online lab sections will be required to attend regular, live labs via Zoom. Students enrolled in this online section of the course will need to purchase a lab kit from the bookstore as well as provide some common household items. International shipping will incur additional costs. Some software licenses may also need to be purchased. Additionally, students need stable internet access, a computer, a microphone, and a webcam that allow all exams to be remotely proctored with video and audio recording. Expect nearly daily lab work and lecture work. Expect to work asynchronously with other students and the instructor online. Expect to work on the course approximately 12 hours each week. Expect to check the canvas site daily to stay informed and on schedule with course work. You cannot choose to get behind. Failure to keep up may cause you to lose points on subsequent assignments.
