Class Description:
We are pleased to announce that Rajiv Tandon will be teaching Business Formation during Summer, 2010. Named one of "200 Minnesotans you should know," by Twin Cities Business, Tandon brings a wealth knowledge to this course through his years of experience in the business environment. Rajiv is a successful serial entrepreneur, an alumnus of the Carlson School and a leader in the entrepreneurial business community. You can find more information on Rajiv at http://www.tcbmag.com/superstars/superstars/127497p1.aspx and on his blog at Rajiv Tandon.com. Business Formation is a "hands-on" class structured to help the "truly interested" student understand the "unvarnished real world" of an entrepreneur and decide if, after detailed investigation done in this class, the obstacles and rewards reinforce their own desire of creating a new venture. The class is designed for "apprentice-type real-life" replication and will require the students to immerse themselves in the messiness of the process. Those interested in the subject solely from an academic interest and credit may find the work load to be far more than what they bargained for. Students will come prepared with or develop a list of business ideas, in a domain of personal interest, and force these ideas to "fail on paper". Those ideas that pass through the initial filter will be moved along as far as possible into a "viable Opportunity".
