- This course will introduce students to basic skills in visual communication through hands-on projects, observation, discussion, and collaboration. Students will learn the vocabulary necessary to communicate effectively about graphic design processes. Students will develop a sense of their own design aesthetic and be able to talk about their solutions to design communication challenges by producing and presenting the projects assigned in the course. They also will learn to provide and receive constructive criticism and encouragement with their peers through both process and final class project critiques. Students will become familiar with the tools and processes necessary to execute simple design projects, from concept through production.
