- Class Description:
- This course is designed to provide therapists-in-training with advanced theoretical and evidence-based information regarding couple and marital therapy, and the relational treatment of sexual dysfunction. Emphasis will be placed on relationship processes that impact sexual functioning and sexual identity. The course will also briefly touch on medical interventions for sexual dysfunctions of organic etiology. Concepts of intimacy and sexuality will be differentiated and discussed in detail. Students are encouraged to be open to helping create a learning environment that is built upon critical thinking, self-disclosure, collegiality and respect.
