- This course introduces basic concepts in ecology for non-majors, with an emphasis on the application of ecological principles to questions facing society. The three main themes of the course are: 1) natural history and environmental controls on individuals and ecosystems, 2) populations and communities, and 3) ecosystems, landscapes, and global ecology.
