- Students will work to integrate meditation practice into daily life, cultivating awareness of the fundamental oneness of body, brain, mind, and universe. Attention will be given to mind-body synergy in health, the "hard problem" of consciousness in neuroscience, and the emergence of compassion, wisdom, and healing in non-discursive awareness. prereq: CSPH 5225, jr or sr or grad student, or instr consent

- Meets by arrangement for Doctor of Nursing Practice-Integrative Health & Healing specialty students only. Students will simultaneously enroll in this course and one of the CSPH courses in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. MBSR is an 8 week, 9 session course that meets 2 1/2 hours per week and an additional day long retreat. Attending MBSR constitutes the clinical/experiential portion of the course. There is no additional cost for the MBSR course. Additionally, students are required to complete on-line learning and course assignments. Email fider002@umn.edu for more information.
