- Using curriculum standards to design science courses. prereq: MEd, initial licensure, grad student, or instr consent
- Class Notes:
- This online course prepares secondary and elementary teachers for the processes of science curriculum design including how science case histories, PBL, inquiry, assessment, race & diversity could be included. We will discuss the history of curriculum in the US (race/diversity/critical pedagogy/etc.) and how science curriculum is influenced by various policy decisions. At the end of the course students will design a curriculum unit of their liking that is inclusive of all students. This class will be both synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous class sessions will be held from 10 - 12 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
