- Medieval art in Western Europe, from around 1000 to the mid-14th century. Works from France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and England examined in their historical context. Cross cultural relations, development of completely new forms of art and techniques, and the processes of realization.

- Medieval Art This course focuses on Medieval art in Western Europe, from the decline of the Roman Empire to the eve of the Renaissance, a new world of magnificent churches, sculptures of monsters and saints, preciously illustrated books, magnificent gold and stone statues, stained glass windows, and ivory carvings. Works from France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and England will be examined in their historical context, with particular attention paid to cross cultural relations, the development of completely new forms of art, and techniques and the processes of realization.
