- Class Description:
- This is the first course in the first-year language instruction sequence (1001-2), designed to develop a basic communicative proficiency in Swedish. Students will practice the four language skills (speaking, writing, reading, and listening) and learn to handle simple, everyday transactions. Class sessions will emphasize interactive communicative activities in pairs and small groups, with a focus on improving listening and speaking skills. Additional class time will be spent on reading, writing, and grammar. Students are expected to practice these skills outside of class as well. Learning about life and culture in Sweden is an integral part of the course.
