- This is a fully online section offered through Online and Distance Learning (ODL), College of Continuing Education. You work independently, not as part of a student group. Visit "Class URL" for ODL policy, fee, and financial aid restrictions. Psy 1001 (online) utilizes a computer-assisted version of the Personalized System of Instruction (PSI) model. Key principles of PSI are specified learning objectives and study aids, small units (for us, these units are the chapters in your textbook), frequent testing with feedback to students, and mastery learning. The materials I've created for this course do three things. First, by focusing your attention on the main points, they make sure you don't miss important information. Second, because feedback is essential to learning, the computer exercises give you feedback when it will do you the most good--right after you finish an exercise--so that you can use that feedback to improve your knowledge. Much of what you do can simply be called practice, but it is guided practice. This will take longer than just reading but the old saying is as true about psychology as anything else "practice makes perfect."

- Scientific study of human behavior. Problems, methods, findings of modern psychology.
- Class Notes:
- All students registering for the course will be automatically charged a fee of approximately $76.40 for the Lillienfeld text, REVEL FOR PSYCHOLOGY FROM INQUIRY TO UNDERSTANDING. The charge will appear as Digital Course Materials on their student account after the start of the course. The ebook will be accessible through the course website. If students want a loose-leaf copy of the text in addition to the digital textbook, they can obtain this through the bookstore.
- Class Description:

If students want a loose-leaf copy of the text in addition to the digital textbook, they can obtain this through the bookstore.
