Course Catalog Description:: Modern black civil rights struggle in U.S. Second reconstruction. Failure of reconstruction, abdication of black civil rights in 19th century. Assault on white supremacy via courts, state, grassroots southern movement in 1950s/1960s. Black struggle in north/west.
