This course will introduce the principal literary genres--narrative prose, poetry, and theater - and the methods used to study literary art produced in a Hispanic context across the centuries. Structures, meaning, and social/historical function of diverse literary texts. Prereq: a grade of C- or better in SPAN 3015W or 3015V or 3019W

This course is completely online in a synchronous format. The course will meet online at the scheduled times. If you can not register put your name on a waitlist.
Class Description:
This course aims to introduce students to basic concepts of literary criticism and analysis through reading, discussing and writing about a variety of texts in Spanish. These will broadly represent a range of genres, periods, and styles. As this a writing-intensive course, it will include regular practice of composition and revision of written Spanish as a means of interpreting and responding to literary texts.
