Class Description:
As the continuation of ARAB-1101, ARAB-1102 focuses on the equal development of the fundamental skills of speaking, writing, reading and listening in Modern Standard Arabic. Content is tailored to meet the communicative demands of daily life. Textbook used is Brustad, K, Al-Batal, M. and A. Al-Tonsi. Al-Kitaab fii Tacallum al-cArabiyya Part One, A Textbook for Beginning Arabic. Class time is mostly devoted to practice. In addition to daily homework assignments, students give oral presentations, compose basic essays, and work on an oral or written project. Attendance of this class is required for all five weekly contact hours. Pre-req: pass in ARAB-1101, or equivalent experience as assessed through a placement test.
