Course Catalog Description:: British literature written between 1780 and 1830. Concept of Romanticism. Effects of French Revolution on literary production. Role of romantic artist.
Class Description:: The study of British literature written between 1780 and 1830. We will pay particular attention to poetry, especially the work of William Blake, William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, George Gordon, Lord Byron, and John Keats, but we will also consider a selection of non-fiction prose and two long novels.
