Class Description:

Functions of communication in work groups, in organizational hierarchies, and between organizations. This course will focus on both theory and practice of communication in organizations. The

specific learning outcomes include:


1) To enhance understanding of theory and practice of organizational communication.

2) To increase awareness of the dynamics operating in organizations.

3) To develop and/or sharpen public discussion, presentation and evaluation skills.

4) To increase awareness of common organizational communication processes and problems, as

well as methods for effective management of these problems, and

5) To develop problem-solving and decision-making skills in organizations.
