Course Catalog Description:: In-depth reading, analysis, and discussion of classical Hebrew texts. Grammar, syntax. Introduction to text-criticism, history of scholarship, and scholarly tools. Format varies between survey of themes (e.g., law, wisdom, poetry) and extended concentration upon specific classical texts.
Class Description:: Focus will be on Hebrew poetic syntax and design, but engagement with academic scholarship will also be required.
Who Should Take This Class?:: As an advanced course in Biblical Hebrew, there is a prerequisite of sufficient previous academic study in Hebrew. Instructor permission is required for registration.
