- How archaeologists analyze/interpret artifacts to develop knowledge about formation of European society, from earliest evidence of human occupation to Roman period.
- Class Description:
- Survey of the archaeology of Europe, from the earliest evidence of human presence about one million years ago to the Roman conquest about two thousand years ago. Major topics include the development of art in the Early Stone Age, adoption of agriculture and village life during the Neolithic, early metallurgy and long-distance trade during the Bronze Age, and formation of cities in the Iron Age.
