- Class Description:
- This is the third of a six-semester sequence of jazz dance technique/style. This class will introduce vocabulary and develop technical skills using a variety of jazz dance styles while increasing flexibility, groundedness and strength. This will include more complex weight changes, rhythm patterns, changes of direction and balances. Dancers will increase their understanding of musicality, dynamics, style and improvisation and deepen an understanding of the history of jazz music and dance styles, with an emphasis on significant jazz artists.
