- Class Description:
- This course provides more exploration into the language and culture of the Dakota people. You will expand your basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to communicate about self, family and daily life, as well as basic survival needs. You will also explore cultural aspects of the Dakota speaking world and expand on your ability to tell stories and give detailed explanations of objects or people. The instructor will present language through games, question and answer, conversations, and written material. At various times the instructor may speak only in Dakota. By the end of this course you will have basic conversational skills and the ability to continue learning Dakota on your own.
