Class Description:
Psy 3121: History and Systems of Psychology is taught as a fully online course but is designated as Primarily Online because students have the option of taking their online final exam in the Elliott Hall Testing Center or off-campus through ProctorU (see https://proctoru.com/howitworks.php for information; taking the exam in the Testing Center is at no cost whereas the convenience of ProctorU will cost those students able to come to campus approximately $20). Each week on Moodle, students will complete online fill-in exercises and multiple-choice quizzes based on the textbook (57% of grade) and an online research assignment (24% of grade). The weekly research assignments consist of finding information (primarily over the Internet on history websites) that supplements textbook material. Students post a 200-400 word report of their research on the Moodle course site. Student reports will be read and assessed by classmates and then graded by the instructor. A comprehensive multiple-choice final exam will count for 19% of the grade.
