Ethical principles/codes of conduct for psychologists. Ethical dilemmas faced by researchers, practitioners, teachers. prereq: Counseling or clinical psych grad student or instr consent
Class Description:
Philosophical systems of ethics and their implications for applied psychology (clinical, counseling, industrial & organizational). Practical ethical dilemmas that emerge in applied psychology, and solutions to them. This course is in a discussion format, with assigned readings in behavior science and medical ethics for each class session. There is a midterm examination and an assigned paper to write about an ethical dilemma (student's choice of topic, approved by the instructors.
