Intellectual threads and faculty for courses in BSE major, especially social sciences. Content varies. prereq: BSE major. Must be completed prior to senior year.

Class Description:
The goals for this course are (1) to provide an overview of the BSE major with attention paid to how the B, S, and E parts are interrelated; (2) to introduce some of the research and teaching themes of faculty involved in the major; (3) to help you develop or refine your own path through the major; and (4) to provide an opportunity to meet, learn from, and learn about some of your BSE peers.
Grading:
Grades are based on attendance and participation in in-class discussion, four short projects, and two short papers.
Exam Format:
There are no exams in this course.

Lecture, discussion.
Workload:
Reading: appx 1-5 hours per week. Students complete four projects that focus on the BSE major and two response papers that focus on in-class guest presentations.
