Class Description:
This course continues the beginning sequence in Swedish, which covers four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will also gain knowledge of Swedish culture through various means, including audio-visual aids available in the language laboratory. Lecture, class discussions and classroom exercises will be conducted in Swedish. Class sessions will emphasize interactive communiative activities in pairs and small groups, with a focus on improving listening and speaking skills. Additional class time will be spent on reading, writing, and grammar. Students are expected to practice these skills outside of class as well. Learning about life and culture in Sweden is an integral part of the course. You may register for this course under the number Swed 4002 for a reduced number of credits (and lower tuition) if you have already passed the Language Proficiency Exam (LPE) in another language or are a graduate student or a non-degree-seeking student.
