Course Catalog Description:: Intensive reading, writing, speaking practice. Study of cultural materials in authentic formats. prereq: 1004

Class Description:: Prerequisite: ITAL 1004, or instructor's permission. Description: This intensive, intermediate course is designed for students who have passed Italian 1004 (or who have obtained the Second Year Coordinator's consent) and have mastered basic Italian grammar. In this course, students will further develop their reading, listening, speaking, writing, and intercultural skills in Italian, with an emphasis on cultural aspects of contemporary Italy. The course will include preparatory activities that are designed to encourage students to analyze grammatical points in question, that need to be completed before class so that class time may be primarily devoted to meaningful interactions in Italian.
Exam Format:: Active participation in class discussions, written essays, comprehensive exams, in-class presentations
Workload:: 20+ Pages Reading Per Week Other Workload: 2 pages writing assignments per week, grammar exercise assignments
