- In this course we'll read selections from Plato's Gorgias and Symposium. Topics we'll explore include: Platonic metaphysics and presocratic philosophy, ancient debates about justice, rhetoric and the sophistic movement, ancient Greek sexuality, Greek education and aristocratic culture, the figure of Socrates.
