- This course is the first of a two-semester sequence of third-year Japanese. The course will cover lessons 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of An Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese. The course aims to develop the four communication skills (i.e., speaking, listening, reading, and writing) on an intermediate-high level, as well as strategies for carrying on a conversation. The items that will be covered in this semester include, but are not limited to: 1. Meeting someone for the first time 2. Requests 3. Asking permission 4. Asking for and receiving advice 5.
