The title of this course is Famous Speeches, and for the most part that is exactly what we will be doing - reading, discussing and analyzing some of the most famous speeches focus of US American history. Two of the important questions posed in this class are: what importance do we place on dissent in US public discourse and in what manner and to what extent are differing opinions and dissenting voices marginalized?
